Earlier this week, there was a fatal hit-and-run crash in Carmel. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on Thursday morning in the Carmel Mountain area. The wreck, which occurred in the northbound lanes of Interstate 15, near Ted Williams Parkway and State Route 56, involved a Ford pickup truck and a Toyota Sedan. Initial reports indicate that the Ford pickup truck collided with the Toyota Sedan, and the driver of the pickup truck fled on foot.

The abandoned pickup truck was then struck by a Kia Sedan. A woman in the Toyota was pronounced dead on the scene, and the driver of the Kia was taken to Scripps La Jolla for treatment of injuries. The pickup truck driver was eventually found by law enforcement officials. At this time, there has been no word on what charges or citations that person is facing.
