Last week, there was a fatal five-vehicle crash in the Elysian Park area. According to KTLA News Channel Five, the incident happened on Friday morning near Stadium Way. At least nine vehicles, including two semi trucks, were involved in the crash. When first responders arrived on the scene, they had to perform multiple extractions of people who were trapped in vehicles. There was one person pronounced dead on the scene, and three others were transported to local hospitals for treatment of injuries.

After the crash, three lanes of the freeway had to be closed as crews and first responders worked the scene, and they didn’t completely reopen until nearly 1:00 p.m. At this time, there has been no word on the cause of the crash, which is likely still under investigation.
