Earlier this week, a woman was struck and killed by an SUV in West Hollywood. According to KTLA News Channel Five, the incident happened near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Hammond Street at about 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Apparently, a female pedestrian was walking in a marked crosswalk when an eastbound SUV struck her.

The vehicle then hit a parked car and finally stopped. That driver did remain in the area to cooperate with officials. The pedestrian involved, a woman in her 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. At this time, the cause of this fatal pedestrian crash is still under investigation. Authorities are looking into whether or not speed may have been a factor, and anybody with information about this crash is being asked to come forward.
