Earlier this week, there was a fatal rollover crash in Escondido. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on the 18100 block of San Pasqual Valley Road. Initial reports indicate that a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado was headed eastbound, when for currently unknown reasons, it was unable to maintain the curvature of the road. The truck crossed the double yellow lines and went down an embankment and into a citrus orchard.

A passenger in the truck was ejected from the vehicle. That person was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was airlifted to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. At the time of the news report, there was no word on the official cause of the crash. This fatal wreck is likely still under investigation with local law enforcement officials.
