Earlier this week, two people were injured in a head-on collision involving a semi truck in Ventura. According to KTLA News Channel Five, the wreck happened at about 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, on the 118 Freeway near Mesa School Road. Initial reports indicate that a 2007 Lexus LS crashed head-on with an eastbound tractor-trailer.

When first responders arrived on the scene, they found the driver of the car trapped in his vehicle and the driver of the semi truck lying in a dirt road south of the freeway. Both people were rushed to local hospitals for treatment of injuries. Anybody who witnessed this crash is being asked to contact the California Highway Patrol, as the incident is still under investigation.
