Hit and Run Crash in Clairemont
Earlier this week, there was a hit-and-run crash in Clairemont. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident began with a collision and pursuit in Point Loma. Initial reports indicate that a Nissan pickup truck hit a Tesla in Point Loma and then fled the scene. The Tesla then followed the truck into a neighborhood in Birdland. The truck crashed into a residential yard and sideswiped a house on Meadowlark Drive.
The truck continued on and hit a car and a guardrail on the Clairemont Mesa Boulevard off-ramp from SR-163. The Tesla continued following the truck that eventually stopped. Apparently, four people got out of the vehicle and tried to flee on foot. Law enforcement officers were able to apprehend those people. The driver was being evaluated for possible DUI, and this incident is likely still under investigation.
