On Wednesday morning, a fatal hit-and-run collision occurred in east San Jose after a driver failed to stop at a stop sign. The crash took place in the Nieman Boulevard and Daniel Maloney Drive/Elkins Way area around 4:10 am, according to NBC Bay Area. A 2017 black Chevy Camaro was driving northbound on Neiman Boulevard at a high rate of speed and didn’t stop at the stop sign on Daniel Maloney Drive. The Camaro struck a 2000 white Nissan Frontier pickup truck heading westbound on Daniel Maloney Drive. The driver of the pickup truck died at the scene.

The Camaro driver fled the scene, leaving his car behind. Later, police located and arrested a minor believed to be the Camaro driver. The City of San Jose Crash Map shows 19 collisions involving cars at that same intersection from 2017–2022.
