Over the weekend, a San Diego Police Department (SDPD) motorcycle sergeant crashed into a pickup truck in Temecula. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on Saturday evening on Rainbow Canyon Road. Initial reports indicate that the motorcycle was northbound on Rainbow Canyon Road, just north of Rainbow Valley Boulevard, when the crash happened.

The SDPD sergeant was reportedly trying to negotiate a curve at about 35-45 miles per hour when he lost control of his department-issued motorcycle. The bike slid onto its side and went across the solid double yellow lines into oncoming traffic. It hit a 2000 Nissan Frontier pickup truck. The sergeant, 42-year-old Franklin White, was rushed to Inland Valley Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.
