On Monday morning, two LAPD officers were injured during a car chase in the Westlake District. The pursuit started around 3:30 am and ended shortly afterwards near the Seventh Street and Union Avenue intersection, according to CBS News. The chase began after officers learned of a carjacking suspect driving a gray Lexus without license plates. During the pursuit, the officers crashed, injuring both.  

Video footage showed an LAPD patrol car resting near a light pole and a parked SUV with damage to the back end. Both officers sustained minor injuries and were said to be in stable condition. The suspect was able to escape without being caught.
