Last week, a man was killed while changing a tire on the side of State Route 54 in South Bay. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on Thursday evening in the National City area. Initial reports indicate that a Toyota Scion was disabled on the eastbound side of SR-54, near Highland Avenue, at about 5:50 p.m. when the collision happened.  

A 22-year-old man was changing the tire on his Scion when another vehicle hit his car. The Scion hit him and threw him into the middle of the road. First responders rushed to the scene, and he was immediately transported to the hospital, but did not survive his injuries. This incident is still under investigation with local law enforcement officials.
