On Saturday morning, a man was killed in a hit-and-run crash in South Bay. According to the Times of San Diego, the collision happened around 2:30 am in the 2400 block of Sweetwater Road in National City. The pedestrian was crossing the street when a dark-colored SUV struck him. After the initial impact, the driver pulled over and moved the man to the side of the road before getting back into his vehicle and driving off.  

The victim was later pronounced dead at Scripps Mercy Hospital. Officers arrested the driver about eight hours later in San Diego. At the time of the report, it was not disclosed how the driver was identified as the suspect.
