Over the weekend, a motorcycle police sergeant was struck and injured by an SUV in Coronado. According to ABC News Channel 10, the wreck happened on Sunday morning at about 9:00 a.m. Initial reports indicate that an SUV pulled out of an alley on 6th Street and Alameda when it collided with the motorcycle.  

The motorcycle rider, a 25-year police veteran and sergeant, was ejected from the bike. He flew over the handlebars and onto the hood of the SUV. He hit the vehicle’s windshield before landing on the ground. Although injured, he was able to radio for help. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. At this time, there has been no word on whether or not the driver is facing any citations or charges associated with the crash.
