On Saturday afternoon, a motorcyclist was killed and his passenger suffered serious injuries after colliding with another vehicle on I-8. According to FOX 5 San Diego, the incident took place around 3:30 pm, west of the Rosecrans Street off-ramp. A man was driving eastbound on a black Yamaha motorcycle with a female passenger when the motorcycle struck the rear of a Ford F-150 that was stopped in traffic. CHP stated that the motorcyclist was splitting lanes while traveling at an unknown rate of speed when it hit the Ford.  

Both the motorcyclist and passenger were thrown from the Yamaha, and the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger sustained major injuries and was taken to the hospital. The Ford driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. At the time of the report, the crash was still under investigation.
