On Monday morning, a motorcyclist died after hitting a truck in Otay Mesa. The crash took place around 4:40 am, north of Otay Mesa Road on Enrico Fermi Drive northbound, according to FOX 5 San Diego. The motorcyclist was riding a Kawasaki Ninja when he struck a disabled box truck that was parked along the east curb. The impact caused him to be thrown from the motorcycle and onto the roadway. He sustained major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.  

Enrico Fermi Drive northbound was shut down for the investigation. It was unclear why the motorcyclist crashed into the truck. At the time of the report, a toxicology report was pending to determine if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
