On Tuesday evening, a motorcyclist died following a collision with a pickup truck in Avila Beach. The crash happened around 6:00 pm on Avila Beach Drive, according to The San Luis Obispo Tribune. A man was traveling eastbound on a 1992 Harley Davidson towards the First Street intersection, where a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado was making a left turn onto Avila Bay Drive. The motorcyclist apparently ran the red light directly into the path of the pickup truck, causing him to be ejected from the bike.  

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital, where he eventually died from his injuries. The Chevrolet driver sustained minor injuries. At the time of the report, the crash was still under investigation. It was unknown as to whether impairment was suspected.
