On Monday evening, a motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a car near Campo, just south of I-8. According to The San Diego Union Tribune, the crash took place around 5:45 pm near Golden Acorn Casino on Old Highway 80. A 78-year-old woman was driving a Toyota Corolla southbound when she began to make a left turn into the casino parking lot. She ended up turning directly in front of a man traveling northbound at an unknown speed on a 2022 Harley Davidson. The motorcycle hit the front of the Corolla, and the rider was thrown onto the road.  

The motorcyclist died at the scene. The Toyota driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. At the time of the report, the incident remains under investigation, but neither drugs nor alcohol were believed to be involved.
