On Thursday afternoon, a passenger van hit a building near the 2nd Avenue and Juniper Street intersection in Escondido. According to NBC 7 San Diego, the incident happened around 2:00 pm when the van collided with another vehicle in the intersection, sending the van into the side of the Love Insurance building. The van was carrying multiple passengers, including some with special needs and caregivers. In total, 13 people were transported to the hospital, none with major injuries. 

The building sustained moderate damage, but no one in the building was believed to be injured. At the time of the report, an inspector was expected to arrive to evaluate the structural integrity of the building.
