Earlier this week, a cyclist was struck by a hit-and-run driver in the Ocean Beach area. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on the 2000 block of Sunset Cliffs Boulevard on Monday. Initial reports indicate that a 45-year-old cyclist was riding his bicycle when a white northbound vehicle hit him. Apparently, the vehicle stopped briefly before fleeing the scene. The driver was last seen heading east on Brighton Avenue.

First responders rushed to the scene, and the injured cyclist had to be transported to a local hospital for treatment of major injuries. Thankfully, there is surveillance footage of the vehicle believed to be involved in the crash. Authorities are looking for a newer model, white, four-door, crossover-style SUV with silver alloy wheels.
