On Wednesday, a person was killed in Malibu after their car went off the road and over the side of a canyon. According to the LA Times, the crash occurred on Malibu Canyon Road near Adamson Flat around 5:30 pm, shutting down traffic in both directions on the two-lane road. The vehicle fell over 100 feet into the ravine below and landed on its side, lodging itself into a brush area. KTLA noted that the driver was killed on impact.

Malibu Canyon Road runs through the Santa Monica Mountains and has steep drop-offs to the canyons below it. Multiple fatal car crashes have occurred in this passage over the years. At the time of the report, the crash was under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
