Earlier this week, a pedestrian was fatally struck by an Azusa motorcycle police officer. According to KTLA News Channel Five, the incident happened on Monday night just after 9:00 p.m. Apparently, the wreck occurred in an unincorporated area of the San Gabriel Valley, near the intersection of Cienega AVenue and Asherton Avenue. Initial reports indicate that the pedestrian was crossing the street when the front of the police officer’s motorcycle struck them.

Both the pedestrian and the motorcycle officer were taken to Pomona Valley Hospital for treatment of injuries. Sadly, the pedestrian did not survive. The police officer reportedly suffered from moderate injuries. At this time, very few details about how this crash happened have been released, and the incident is likely still under investigation.
