Earlier this week, a pedestrian was fatally struck by a pickup truck in Chula Vista. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on Wednesday morning at about 5:30 a.m. Initial reports indicate that the pedestrian was walking on L Street, just west of Broadway, when they were struck by the pickup truck. Apparently, the pedestrian was trapped under the truck. Sadly, that person was pronounced dead at the scene.   

The driver of the truck did remain on the scene to cooperate with authorities. A portion of L Street, near Broadway, had to be closed for several hours as crews and first responders worked. At the time of the report, there was no word on the cause of this fatal pedestrian crash, and it’s likely still under investigation with local law enforcement officials.
