Last week, a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle on State Route 67 near Santee. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on Friday at about 12:45 a.m. Apparently, a CHP officer noticed a vehicle pass him with significant front end damage. He pulled the blue Nissan over, and the driver said she thought she might have hit something, but couldn’t provide a location.   

CHP officers searched along SR-67 and found the fatally injured pedestrian down the side of an embankment by the roadway. The driver was detained and was going to be evaluated for a DUI. At this time, there has been no word on what citations or charges that person is facing.
