Over the weekend, a pedestrian was struck and injured by an SUV in the Sherman Heights area. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on Saturday evening on the 2000 block of Market Street. Initial reports indicate that the 60-year-old pedestrian was crossing Market Street, at the intersection with 20th Street, when a Kia Sportage struck him.  

First responders rushed to the scene, where the injured pedestrian had to be transported to a local hospital for treatment of various injuries including a broken pelvis and femur. Thankfully, those injuries were not reported as life-threatening on the scene. There has been no word on whether or not the driver is facing any citations, and this wreck may still be under investigation with law enforcement officials.
