Pedestrian Injured by Vehicle in Gaslamp
Last week, a pedestrian was struck and injured by a vehicle in the Gaslamp area. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on the 800 block of 5th Avenue on a Sunday afternoon. Initial reports indicate that a 27-year-old pedestrian was struck by a 2023 GMC Yukon that was headed northbound on 5th Avenue.
First responders rushed to the scene. The injured pedestrian was transported to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries including a brain bleed. No information has been released on whether or not the driver involved is facing any citations. At the time of the news report, alcohol was not thought to be a factor in the crash. This incident is likely still under investigation with local law enforcement officials.
