Earlier this week, a pedestrian was struck and injured by a vehicle in the Redwood Village area. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on Tuesday morning on University Avenue. Initial reports indicate that a 28-year-old man was walking in a marked crosswalk just after 7:00 a.m., when he was struck by a white Chevrolet Silverado that was headed south on 58th Street.  

First responders rushed to the scene, and the pedestrian had to be transported to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries that included a subdural brain injury, lung contusion, spleen injury and hip, pelvic and femur injuries. The driver involved did remain on the scene and called the authorities.
