On Thursday in San Jose, a man was killed after being struck by a vehicle on US Highway 101, according to CBS News Bay Area. Around 3:40 am, California Highway Patrol received news of a Chrysler 300 hitting a pedestrian who had been walking on the northbound lanes of the highway near Oakland Road. When CHP officers arrived, they found the man lying unresponsive on the highway. He was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

As of the time of the report, CHP officers are apparently in contact with the involved vehicle’s driver. They will also be investigating why the pedestrian was on the highway.
