Pedestrian Struck, Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash in Hollywood
On Monday afternoon in Hollywood, a multi-vehicle crash involving an LAPD cruiser injured several people and killed a pedestrian. According to NBC Los Angeles, the incident took place around 3:50 pm near the Santa Monica Boulevard and N. Gower Street intersection. The LAPD cruiser was headed north on Gower Street when it was T-boned by a car headed west on Santa Monica Boulevard. The impact caused the cruiser to hit a pedestrian who was in the north crosswalk, pinning him underneath the vehicle.
The victim was taken to the hospital, where he later died. The people in the involved cars were not seriously injured, and the officers in the cruiser did not sustain any injuries. The area was shut down for several hours as investigators worked to determine the cause of the crash.
