Earlier this week, a scooter rider was struck by a hit-and-run driver in South Los Angeles. According to KTLA News Channel Five, the incident happened near the intersection of Hooper Avenue and 48th Place. Apparently, the scooter rider, a 55-year-old man, collided with a Honda Civic that made an “unsafe left turn” onto 48th Place. The scooter rider was ejected onto the pavement, and the Honda driver paused for a movement before fleeing.

First responders rushed to the scene, where the injured scooter rider had to be transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. He was admitted to an intensive care unit in critical condition. At this time, authorities are looking for a 2012-2015 model Honda Civic that may have damage to the rear bumper. Anybody with information about the vehicle or driver is being asked to come forward.
