Earlier this week, a semi truck’s tires burst into flames in Los Angeles. According to KTLA News Channel Five, the incident happened on the 101 Freeway, through Van Nuys, at about 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning. At the time of the report, there was no word on what caused the big rig’s tires to catch on fire. Thankfully, the driver was able to detach the trailer from the cab before the flames spread.

When first responders arrived on the scene and were actively trying to extinguish the flames, one of the tires exploded. No major injuries were reported on the scene, and a portion of the roadway had to be closed as crews and firefighters worked.
