Suspect Strikes Two Patrol Cars During Los Angeles Chase
On Thursday morning, the driver of a suspected stolen vehicle led LAPD on a car chase through the Los Angeles area. According to ABC 7, the driver reportedly crashed the pickup truck through a construction site and into two patrol cars. The driver ended up in a cul-de-sac in the Palms area, where he drove onto a curb, through a fence, and into a parked car in an attempt to flee from pursuing patrol units. The driver kept going and eventually reached another cul-de-sac in Culver City, where he then got out of the vehicle and surrendered to police without incident.
Video footage from FOX 11 Los Angeles showed the suspect lying prone on the street as officers approached him. The pickup truck had front-end damage and was leaking from the radiator. The driver was taken into custody on various charges, including auto theft and evading the police. No injuries were reported.
