Earlier this week, there was a suspected DUI crash in the Balboa Park area. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened early Monday morning at about 2:45 a.m. Initial reports indicate that this single-vehicle crash occurred on the southbound side of SR-163, near the El Prado Bridge. Apparently, the vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a large pole.

The driver, a man in a karate uniform, was able to escape the wreckage. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. That person was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. This single-car wreck may still be under investigation with local law enforcement officials.
