Over the weekend, a 19-year-old man intentionally drove into groups of pedestrians at a Carlsbad strip mall. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened during an alleged altercation in the parking lot at Village Faire shopping center. Apparently, during the dispute, the 19-year-old, John Jason Guiterrez Martinez, got into his vehicle and drove it into a group of pedestrians.

He then put the vehicle into reverse and drove into another group of pedestrians before fleeing the scene. He was located at a motel in Escondido on Tuesday and arrested by law enforcement officers. At least four people were taken to local hospitals for treatment of injuries. At this time, Martinez is facing charges related to suspicion of assault and attempted murder, and this case is likely still under investigation by law enforcement officials.
