Last week, a 14-year-old on a bicycle was struck by a vehicle in the South Park area. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on the 1700 block of Granada Avenue. Initial reports indicate that the teen was on a BMX-style bike when he was struck by a 2019 Subaru Ascent.  

The driver of the Subaru did stop and remain on the scene to cooperate with authorities after the collision. The teen was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. At the time of the report, the injuries listed included a compound fracture and dislocation of the left ankle along with several other injuries. Thankfully, none of those injuries were listed as life threatening on the scene, although there has been no word on the teen’s current condition.
