Earlier this week, three California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers were injured in a fiery crash on the 105 Freeway. According to KTLA News Channel Five, the incident happened in the eastbound lanes of the freeway, near Lakewood Boulevard, at about 1:30 a.m. on Thursday morning. The officers were reportedly responding to another wreck when they were hit by an SUV.

Witness reports indicate that the SUV may have been going speeds of up to 90 or 95 miles per hour prior to striking the CHP vehicle. All three of the CHP officers had to be transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries ranging from moderate to serious. The SUV driver was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence, and this incident may still be under investigation with authorities.
