Unlicensed Teenage Driver Kills Mother of 3 in Orange
On Sunday evening, an unlicensed teenage driver was allegedly involved in a DUI crash that killed a mother of three in Orange. According to CBS News, the crash took place around 8:00 pm near the Collins Avenue and Tustin Street intersection. The teenager was driving a Chevy Equinox southbound on Tustin Street when he approached a red light at Collins Avenue. At the same time, a Toyota RAV4 was driving westbound on Collins Avenue on a green light at Tustin Street. The Chevy then crashed into the side of the Toyota, killing the woman in the front passenger seat.
The three other occupants in the Toyota were taken to the hospital in various conditions. The Chevy driver was hospitalized with non-serious injuries. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury, gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, and DUI with a blood-alcohol content above the legal limit or more causing injury, stated FOX LA.
