Earlier this week, a vehicle hit a traffic light pole in the North Park area. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened on the 3000 block of University Avenue at about 3:45 a.m. on Thursday morning. The driver of a black mustang reportedly lost control of his car before crashing into the pole. The light pole fell into the roadway. A driver in a Lexus tried to avoid hitting the fallen pole, but struck it.

A portion of the roadway was closed from Ray to Grimm as crews and first responders worked the scene. City workers had to remove the downed traffic pole before the road could be reopened. The Mustang driver was taken to a local hospital and then arrested. There has been no word on what charges that driver is facing.
