Woman Leads Police in Stolen Car Chase Across Fresno County, Crashes Twice
On Monday afternoon, a woman was arrested in Fresno after fleeing from police in a stolen car. Clovis Police initially responded to reports of a woman causing a disturbance in a Walmart, according to KMPH FOX 26 News. The woman got into a Kia Niro as the officers arrived, which they later learned was stolen. The woman proceeded to put the car in reverse and hit a Clovis Police Department vehicle. She then put the car into drive and hit a second police vehicle. After hitting the vehicles, she drove away, hitting a parked car in the process.
As police were chasing her, the woman crashed her vehicle twice: first at Cedar and Barstow Avenues in Fresno, and then again at First and Nees. The second crash disabled the Kia Niro, and the woman fled the scene on foot. She was quickly caught and taken into custody to be evaluated for DUI at the police station.
