Earlier this week, there was a crash involving a wrong-way driver in downtown San Diego. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened early Monday morning in the Gaslamp Quarter. Initial reports indicate that a BMW was headed the wrong way on the 800 block of Fourth Avenue when it crashed into the patio at Opera cafe at about 2:00 a.m.

Thankfully, it doesn’t appear that anybody was on the patio at the time of the crash. The area did sustain damage. Chairs, tables, and glass were broken on the patio. First responders rushed to the scene. The driver was evaluated, and that person was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
