Earlier this week, there was a wrong-way injury crash in the Hillcrest area. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened at about 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning. A northbound GMC Sierra truck entered the southbound lanes of State Route 163 from University Avenue. The Sierra hit a Honda CR-V head on.  

The driver of the CR-V was rushed to Scripps Mercy Hospital for treatment of major injuries. At the time of the report, that person’s condition was not known. The driver of the Sierra, was transported to the hospital for evaluation. She did not report injuries on the scene, but was being evaluated for a possible driving under the influence charge. This wrong-way crash may still be under investigation with law enforcement officials.
