10 Injured in Oceanside Crash

Over the weekend, 10 people were injured in an Oceanside collision. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the wreck happened late Sunday night on State Route 76 at Douglas Drive. Apparently, a silver sedan ran a red light and crashed into a pickup truck. The force of the impact caused the pickup truck to flip onto its side. When emergency responders arrived on the scene, a man, a pregnant woman, and two children were trapped in the truck, and six people were trapped in the sedan.

Crews spent about half an hour freeing people from both vehicles. They were all transported to area hospitals for treatment of injuries. At least six of them suffered from injuries described as critical. At this time, there has been no word on the cause of the crash, which is still under investigation with local law enforcement officials. They are looking into whether or not alcohol could have been a factor.
