11 DUI Arrests in Pacific Beach
Over the weekend, law enforcement officers in Pacific Beach made 11 DUI arrests at a driver’s license and sobriety checkpoint. According to ABC News Channel 10, the checkpoint was in the 2400 block of Grand Avenue and ran from 11:00 p.m. on Saturday to 3:00 a.m. on Sunday. All 11 vehicles were impounded after their drivers were arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.
In efforts to get drunk drivers off of the roadways and prevent potentially injury causing or fatal crashes, law enforcement officers were at their checkpoint and out in full force looking for patrolling San Diego streets. According to San Diego Police Officer Mark McCullough, a total of 1,484 vehicles went through the checkpoint. Of the vehicles that went through, 1,007 motorists were screened during the night.
