Injury Crash on Highway 166

Early Monday morning, a woman was injured after apparently falling asleep behind the wheel in Santa Barbara County. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident occurred sometime before 5:22 a.m., on Highway 166 near Spanish Ranch. Thankfully, a U.S. Forest Service truck was nearby and able to get to the crash site quickly. As first responders arrived on the scene, they found a woman trapped inside of the vehicle.

She was extricated from the automobile, treated on the scene and then transferred to Marian Regional Medical Center for treatment. At this time, very few details have been released. We don’t know the extent of her injuries or her current condition. Although she reportedly fell asleep behind the wheel, there has been no word on whether or not anybody else was in the car at the time of the crash.
