On Wednesday, at least one person was injured in a single-vehicle crash on Jalama Road near Lompoc. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the wreck happened about halfway between Highway One and Jalama Beach at about 1:00 p.m. For currently unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway and slammed into a tree. First responders rushed to the scene, where an occupant was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters.

That person was reportedly airlifted to a local hospital for treatment of major injuries. There has been no word on that person’s current condition. Additionally, no information has been released on the cause of the crash, which is likely still under investigation with local law enforcement officials.
