Hit-and-Run Crash Injures Cyclist in San Diego

On Monday evening, a bicyclist was struck and injured by a hit-and-run driver in Point Loma Heights. The incident happened just before 11:00 p.m. on the 3700 block of Midway Drive. According to CBS News Channel Eight, the 44-year-old cyclist suffered from a head injury and a dislocated shoulder. There is no word on the victim’s current condition, but Channel Eight did report that he was expected to survive.

A silver car, which could have been a Mercedes or Lexus sedan with dark trim, was travelling northbound when it struck the cyclist from behind. For unknown reasons, the driver continued on without stopping. This incident is likely still under investigation with the San Diego Police Department.
