On Wednesday morning, an ambulance driver fell asleep at the wheel and lost control of his vehicle. According to ABC San Diego News Channel 10, the incident happened near the intersection of Friars and Mission Gorge Roads in the Grantville area at around 4:00 a.m. An EMT riding in the ambulance was injured in the crash. Thankfully, the patient inside was stabilized on a gurney when the ambulance overturned.

At the time of the crash, that person was being transported to Kaiser Permanente Hospital for dialysis treatment. The driver wasn’t injured in the wreck. There has been no word on whether or not any citations have been issued regarding this ambulance crash.
