Bicycle Accident Injures Two

On Wednesday, two people were struck while riding a bicycle at the intersection of Micheltorena and Laguna Streets in Santa Barbara. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, a 27-year-old man and an 11-year-old boy were both on the bicycle that got struck. One of them was riding on the handlebars, as they were headed southbound on Laguna Street. They were struck by a 20-year-old female driver who was headed eastbound on Micheltorena Street.

First responders were swiftly on the scene, and both riders were transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment of injuries. Thankfully, their injuries didn’t appear to be too serious. Although the investigation is ongoing, initial reports indicate that the pair was struck by the 20-year-old female driver after they ran through a stop sign.
