On Christmas evening, a woman bicyclist collided with a car in the Friars Road and Sea World Drive intersection. A woman was driving west on Sea World Drive and the bicyclist was merging onto Sea World Drive when the car collided with the bicyclist. “The woman riding the bicycle was on the wrong side of the road in a dedicated bicycle lane on Friars failed to stop at a red traffic signal and drove through the intersection when the car struck her”, NBC San Diego.

Authorities confirmed that the woman driving was neither under the influence nor speeding at the time of the accident. The medics arrived on the scene and resuscitated the bicyclist three times before they took her to the hospital.
