Big Rig Crash in Montecito

On Friday morning, a crash involving a semi truck had traffic backed up in Montecito. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened in the northbound lanes of Highway 101 at about 4:30 a.m. Apparently, a commercial truck that was hauling eggs struck a guard rail near Cabrillo Boulevard. The big rig leaked diesel fuel across multiple lanes of the highway.

At about 5:15 a.m., an additional three-car crash happened near the Cabrillo Boulevard exit. Thankfully, no injuries were immediately reported in either wreck. At this time, there’s no word on why the semi truck hit the guardrail. This crash could still be under investigation with law enforcement authorities.
