Big Rig Crash in Montecito

On Friday morning, a crash involving a semi-truck had traffic backed up in Montecito. According to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk, the incident happened in the northbound lanes of Highway 101 at about 4:30 a.m. Apparently, a commercial truck that was hauling eggs struck a guard rail near Cabrillo Boulevard. The big rig leaked diesel fuel across multiple lanes of the highway.

At about 5:15 a.m., an additional three-car crash happened near the Cabrillo Boulevard exit. Thankfully, no injuries were immediately reported in either wreck. At this time, there’s no word on why the semi-truck hit the guardrail. This crash could still be under investigation with law enforcement authorities.
