Big Rig Wreck in Arroyo Grande

On Tuesday morning, a semi truck hauling double trailers overturned and took out a utility pole in Arroyo Grande. The crash happened at Los Berros Road at about 8:47 a.m. According to the San Luis Obispo Tribune, initial reports indicate that the truck driver failed to negotiate a curve after driving at potentially unsafe speeds.

A second vehicle, traveling in the westbound lane, was damaged when cable and phones lines hit it. Crews with Five Cities Fire Authority, the California Highway Patrol, AT&T and a local towing agency were on the scene for hours. The road was reopened at 10:00 p.m., but closed at 9:00 a.m. the following day for continued repairs. Officials with the California Highway Patrol asked motorists to find alternative roadways for their commutes.
