Caltrans Contractor Killed in Hit and Run Near 110 Freeway
Early Wednesday morning, a Caltrans contractor was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver near the 110 Freeway. According to ABC News Channel Seven, the wreck happened near West 3rd Street in downtown Los Angeles at about 12:15 a.m. Initial reports indicate that the worker was in the process of closing down a lane of a collector ramp when he was struck.
While he was working, a dark colored SUV hit him and fled the scene without stopping. The worker was pronounced dead on the scene. At this time, no information has been released on whether or not the hit-and-run driver has been located. Additionally, the identity of the worker who was killed has not yet been released publicly. This fatal hit-and-run crash is likely still under investigation with local law enforcement officials.
